Posted by Binny V A in Announcements, Cochin on October 10th, 2009

Even though its not a tweetup, tomorrow’s(Oct 11th 2009) BarCamp will have the greatest concentration of Twitter users in Kerala. Be there if you are in Cochin. Don’t know what a BarCamp is? Here is a description from BarCamp Kerala’s official site…
BarCamp is an ad-hoc unconference born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos and interaction from attendees. Anyone with something to contribute or with the desire to learn is welcome and invited to join. There are no registration fees or any charges for a barcamp as this is a user-generated conference. You are invited to volunteer for various activities for putting up a successful camp.
This time, we are holding the camp at Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology Campus. The camp starts at 10 AM and ends at 5 PM.
BarCamp Kerala is your best chance to meetup all the coolest techies from Kerala. If you are a techie of any scale, do make it to BarCampKerala!

Sad News in the Polls
In other news, there is a bit of sad news that I would like to share with you guys. Many of you have heard about the recent polls – and about its tragic results. No, I am not talking about #IndiaVotes09 – I am talking about #CochinVotes09. The poll to decide our hashtags. Well, I am sad to report that #coktup has the lead.
But its not over yet – you can still vote. So put in your vote for #cochin #tweetup hashtag. Go to the voting page and do your duty as a citizen of this group – vote for #cochin #tweetup hashtag. Remember evil hashtags(#coktup) are voted in by good people who do not vote.
